I joined the Department of Protozoology at Nagasaki University's Institute of Tropical Medicine (Nekken) in 2008.
My main research area involves investigating the interactions between different malaria parasite species in both the
invertebrate and vertebrate hosts.
Other active areas of interest include the consequences of urbanisation on malaria epidemiology, the immunology of
pre-erythrocytic stage parasite infection, and the prevalence and epidemiology of African Plasmodium vivax.
